The Club remains on the forefront with world-class facilities with an active and family oriented membership. In last 15 years Apawamis has invested over $35mm in facility renovations and additions.

    Apawamis has over 700 members, 437 of whom are golf members (the maximum number of golf members allowed by our Board of Governors).     Duties Description: We are seeking focused, passionate, and driven individuals who are highly motivated to learn and advance their careers in the golf maintenance industry. The right candidate will have the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with the Superintendent and other Assistant Superintendents on a daily basis. Our operation revolves around an established team atmosphere which has allowed us to completely transform the golf course over the last three years. Assistant Superintendents will work closely with the Superintendent to plan, manage, and execute daily objectives on the golf course including, but not limited to: moisture management, aerification and cultural programs, chemical and fertilizer calibration, application, and documentation, operation of all equipment, installation of irrigation and drainage infrastructure, record keeping and daily scheduling. 

    In the last three years, we have completed several major golf course capital improvement projects. These include the renovation of all 92 golf course bunkers, expansion and re-grading of all putting surfaces, expansion of fairway surfaces by 9 acres, installation of new irrigation infrastructure around greens and approaches, removal of several hundred trees, installation of a 7,500 Poa annua nursery, installation of a new chemical building and sand silo, and a full cart path renovation. 

    We are currently in the process of re-building our irrigation pump station which will be completed prior to the upcoming 2020 golf season. In the fall of 2020, we will embark on a phase two renovation working with Golf Course Architect Keith Foster. This renovation will include the installation of several new bunkers, the renovation of several tee complexes, and further fairway expansions. In the fall of 2021, we will begin the installation of a new wall-to-wall irrigation system throughout the remainder of the golf course.

    Over the last three years we have successfully transformed the golf course conditions, aesthetics, and Member golf experience. Additionally, we have put a priority on moving Assistant Superintendents into Head Superintendent positions. In the last four months, two of our Assistants have obtained Superintendent positions. 

    Special Skills: Candidate must be fully committed to advancing their careers within the turf industry. The right individual must possess a strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and a great sense of urgency. In addition, the candidate must be willing to work within a team atmosphere and fully support the success of those around them.
