Facility Description: Marlborough Country Club is a member-owned, semi-private, 18-hole golf course located just off Rt. 20 near downtown Marlborough. The back nine, designed in 1920 by Stiles and Van Kleek, features undulating greens and wide fairways. The front nine, designed in 1969 by Geoffrey Cornish, features tighter fairways and larger greens.
Experience Desired: Minimum two years on a golf course. This could include internships or Assistant in training work.
Duties Description: Assist in all day to day operations focusing on irrigation repair, fertilizer and/or pesticide applications, and course set-up.
Compensation / Benefits: $35-40K. Other benefits include; 70% company paid health insurance, paid holidays and sick days, vacation time, GCSANE and GCSAA dues and meeting allowances.
Education Level Required: Two or four-year degree in Turf Management or related field, or Winter School certificate with at least two years golf course experience. Also, applicant must have, or can obtain, a Massachusetts Pesticide license.

Duties Description: Founded in 1899, Franklin Country Club is an 18 hole private country club and pool facility with 350 members. We host approximately 20,000 annual rounds and recently opened one of the northeast region's premier practice facilities. FCC is home to several of the Northeast region's top amateur players. With a highly active and demanding membership, the greens department strives to provide tournament conditions on a consistent basis. Ongoing course improvements involve tee and bunker construction, along with extensive tree work and in-house projects.
The second assistant golf course superintendent reports directly to the senior assistant course superintendent. Under the senior assistant superintendent's supervision, the second assistant superintendent directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths; supervises the maintenance and repair of motorized and other mechanical equipment; and does related work as required. The second assistant superintendent may serve in the senior assistant superintendent's capacity during his/her absence.
FCC strives to recruit, hire, and develop future golf course superintendents and has a long history of success in this area. Many of FCC's former assistants have gone on to careers as head superintendents at several of the region's top clubs.
Special Skills: Must possess or attain pesticide applicators license within 60 days of hire.

Facility Description: Concord Country Club is a 120-year-old private club, featuring a Donald Ross designed 18-hole golf course, 8 tennis courts, pool facilities and a clubhouse for members and guests. Concord was the host of the 2014 WGAM State Amateur, the 2015 NEPGA Championship, and the 2018 Ouimet tournament. The club will be hosting the 2020 New England Amateur Championship and the 2022 Massachusetts Amateur Championship. The golf course also is undertaking a new irrigation system starting in August of 2020 which will include a new storage pond, pump house and pumps. Along with an irrigation system, the club is in the process of finalizing a new Master plan by architect Andrew Green with hopes of starting the restoration project construction sometime in the fall of 2020. The 2nd Assistant will gain extensive construction and irrigation installation experience. The department is located in a 20,000 sq. ft. ground and environmental management center built in 2012. Duties Description: The 2nd Assistant will work closely with the Superintendent and the turf management team on all aspects of golf course maintenance. The position will consist of fertilizer and pesticide applications, calibration, and training. Other duties will include course set-up, water management, irrigation and drainage projects and troubleshooting assignments. Candidates with extensive spraying and irrigation experience are positives. The position requires a strong work ethic, commitment, honesty, and a positive attitude. Candidate needs a willingness to put in long hours in season as needed (average 50 to 60 hours per week).
Special Skills: Must have or obtain a Massachusetts Pesticide license in 60 days. Company will pay fees associated with taking and obtaining license.

Facility Description: Built in 1896, Norfolk is a private, member owned club and founding member of the Massachusetts Golf Association (Mass Golf). Norfolk has continually produced playing conditions rivaling those of other clubs in the Boston area. Norfolk GC was recently featured in the book “The Finest Nines: The Best 9 Hole Courses in North America”. Aside from the golf course, Norfolk's greatest asset is its welcoming and friendly membership. It's worth noting that the previous Assistant Superintendent is moving on to become a Superintendent.
Experience Desired: Minimum 2-3 years experience on a golf course, including familiarity with crew/project management, daily course setup, hand watering and moisture management, irrigation troubleshooting and repair, as well as previous fertilizer and pesticide application experience. Must have, or be able to obtain, a Pesticide Applicators License before the start of 2020 season. Knowledge of the game of golf is also important.
Duties Description: The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent in managing all daily agronomics associated with a classically designed golf course consisting of bent/poa greens. The Assistant will also be responsible for hiring, training, and management of up to 15 full and part time staff members.
Special Skills: Preference given to individuals with irrigation, mechanical, applicator or construction experience
