    Duties Description: The Assistant will work closely with the Superintendent in all aspects of course maintenance. This year round position will expose the right candidate to all the skills needed to progress in the turf industry, including but not limited to: daily maintenance, crew management, equipment repair, irrigation troubleshooting and repair, golf course design and construction, water management, pesticide and fertilizer applications. The position requires a positive attitude, strong work ethic, ability to work with and lead a diverse crew as well as work alone, and willingness to learn. As a former Assistant at Norfolk myself, I can assure you this position will prepare you to take the next step in your career.

    Special Skills:  Previous irrigation, pesticide or mechanical experience preferred. Must already have, or be able to obtain pesticide applicators license within 45 days of hire.

    Compensation / Benefits: $40-50,000/year (based on range of experience), health insurance, golf, uniforms, holiday bonus, local and national association dues, continuing education opportunities, and flexible winter schedule.

    Education Level Required: Turf Certificate, A.S., or B.S. in Turf Management or relative experience.

    Duties Description:  Wedgewood Pines maintenance team is looking to add a new member who is honest, eager and willing to take extra steps to go the extra mile. Pending previous experience the position advertised can be either a summer internship or jump right into an Assistant Superintendent role. Wedgewood Pines is a family owned private facility so we are looking for someone who is professional in both their work and member communications. Tasks will range from daily course setup, daily mowing, water management, staff management, training and leadership...etc. As the season progresses and trust is earned responsibility of digital job board, staff direction and chemical/fertilizer applications will be given. I am a very hands-on superintendent and looking for the person to compliment my work style and continue to improve the beautiful facility that is Wedgewood Pines.

    Compensation / Benefits:   Salary will fall between the range of $42,000 - $45,000 and will be discussed after first meeting. Employer contributes 50% health, vacation time after first full year. Uniform, golf privileges and opportunity for lunches with ownership & superintendent.
