Facility Description: Meadow Brook Golf Club, established in 1898, is a private 9-hole facility located in Reading, Massachusetts and designed by Alexander Findley. Meadow Brook is a family oriented club offering a full palate of activities including, golf, swimming and tennis. The club completed a full irrigation system installation in 2006 (Toro SitePro Central Control System), construction of a new maintenance facility in 2011 and a new club house was completed in April of 2022. The club has hired golf course designer Ron Forse and is in the early stages of a master plan.
Experience Desired: 2-4 years of golf course maintenance experience. Previous experience as a 1st or 2nd assistant or assistant in training helpful.
Duties Description: Under the direction of The Golf Course Superintendent, The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for all aspects of daily golf course preparation including but not limited to supervision and guidance of the green department staff, safe and accurate application of pesticides and fertilizers, irrigation repairs and water management.
Special Skills: Applicants must be self-motivated and goal oriented individuals who show great attention to detail, are effective communicators, and are eager to develop and advance professionally as turfgrass managers. The appropriate candidate will be well organized, dedicated and appreciates the importance of working in a team environment. Must have the ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis, have the ability to obtain a Massachusetts pesticide applicator license, possess a driver's license and reliable transportation.
Compensation / Benefits: $55,000-$65,000/year salary, Blue Cross/Blue Shield medical insurance (employer contribution 68%), 401K (no match), uniforms/golf shirts, meals, dues for local and national associations, regional conferences, association meetings and golf privileges with carts and guests.

Facility Description: Owned by the Town of North Reading and managed by Golf Facilities Management, Inc., Hillview is a course where players of all levels will have an enjoyable golfing experience, challenging for the expert and playable for the beginner. Architect Mark Mungeam recently completed a master plan for the property and funding has been allocated for renovation. Improvement work is set to begin this summer.
Experience Desired: 1-2 years as Assistant or Spray/Irrigation Tech preferred, but no management experience required for the right candidate.
Description: Hillview is seeking a motivated individual that has knowledge of golf maintenance practices and is enthusiastic about learning. This position is a hands-on, actively working position reporting directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. This is a year round, full-time position. Candidates should expect to work 50-60 hours/6 days a week during peak golf season (May-September) with a lighter schedule the rest of the year. This can be a physically demanding position, candidates should have physical strength and stamina and be able to lift 50 lbs.
Duties: The individual must be able to work well with our team and be able to manage and supervise small crews and projects. Also must be able to work as a “self starter,” being able to work independently especially when staff availability is a challenge. The Assistant Superintendent is a key member of the agronomy team and will be involved in all aspects of agronomic planning, golf course maintenance, set up, scheduling, training, and ongoing course renovations. He/She will be responsible for providing the Superintendent with pertinent information in regards to plant health, course conditioning and staff related issues.
Special Skills: Possess or ability to obtain MA Pesticide Applicator License, Hillview is a drug/substance free workplace
Compensation and Benefits: $45-55K Salary DOE, Health Insurance, Simple IRA, Gas for vehicle, Year-end Bonus
Education Level Required: At least Turf Management certificate preferred but will consider candidates with solid field experience
