    Position Overview:

    Far Corner Golf Club in Boxford, MA is seeking an experienced and reliable Golf Course Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and a passion for keeping golf course equipment running smoothly. As a Golf Course Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing all golf course machinery, including mowers, carts, utility vehicles, and other essential equipment used on the course.

    Key Responsibilities:

    ● Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on all golf course equipment, including riding mowers, walk-behind mowers, tractors, aerators, and utility vehicles.

    ● Troubleshoot and repair engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical systems.

    ● Ensure all equipment is in good working condition to maintain a safe and efficient operation of the golf course.

    ● Maintain an inventory of parts and supplies necessary for repairs and routine maintenance.

    ● Conduct regular inspections of equipment and keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work.

    ● Collaborate with the golf course maintenance team to ensure equipment needs are met in a timely manner.

    ● Assist in training staff on proper equipment operation and safety procedures.

    ● Work with management to develop and implement a preventative maintenance program.

    ● Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the shop and tool storage.

    Qualifications:

    ● Previous experience as a mechanic, ideally in a golf course or landscaping environment.

    ● Strong knowledge of small engines, mechanical systems, and hydraulics.

    ● Experience working with golf course maintenance equipment, including mowers, tractors, and utility vehicles.

    ● Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical issues.

    ● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    ● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    ● Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

    ● Must be able to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.

    ● Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    ● Certification in small engine repair or related field.

    ● Experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems.

    ● Knowledge of electrical systems in vehicles and equipment.

    Facility Description: After 27 years, as the first and only Equipment Manager at Cyprian Keyes Golf Club, Woody has decided to hang up the wrenches and call it a career. We are searching for a successor to take over managing our shop and keeping our department moving forward. Here at Cyprian Keyes, we strive to build and maintain our team culture of mutual respect and self-accountability. The right candidate will help support this effort by servicing, maintaining and repairing our mixed fleet of vehicles and turf equipment (Toro, John Deere, Club Car, Cushman, Turfco, and Vermeer). Cyprian Keyes GC boasts 27 holes (18-hole Championship course and 9-hole Par-3 course) with a full practice facility (driving range and short-game practice area), and the clubhouse remains open year-round for meetings and events.

    Experience Desired: Previous golf course experience (or experience with similar equipment) is preferred. Knowledge and experience with both reel and rotary mowers, small engines (gas, diesel, and two-stroke), and hydraulic systems is necessary. Welding/fabrication skills are a plus.

    Duties Description: The Equipment Manager reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. This is a year-round position that will play a key role in the success of our Maintenance Team. The Equipment Manager is responsible for maintaining the safe, proper, and efficient operation of all tools, equipment, and vehicles in our shop and keeping detailed records of all service and repairs. Note: The Equipment Manager is NOT responsible for our fleet of golf cars. Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

    • Perform daily checking quality of cut for all reel mowers used that day
    • Carry out routine checking/sharpening of rotary mower blades
    • Plan and carry out preventive maintenance plan on all vehicles and equipment
    • Responsibly order replacement parts and manage parts inventory
    • Perform reel grinding and bedknife replacement as needed
    • Assist with training of employees on proper care and operation of equipment Assist with work on the golf course during times with slow shop work or busy golf events
    • Assist with winter snow/ice cleanup
    • Work closely with Supt. on planning/forecasting capital equipment purchases

    Special Skills: The right candidate will be self-motivated and detail oriented, with a sense of personal pride in their work and a desire to be a contributing part of a successful team. Must possess valid driver’s license.

    Compensation / Benefits: $50-$65k annually, depending on knowledge and experience. Health and dental insurance options, life insurance, 401k, uniforms, continuing education, golf privileges, restaurant allowance (when open).

    Facility Description: Bald Peak Colony Club was founded in 1921 by Thomas Plant to provide a club where sporting families could enjoy golf, fishing, riding and other outside activities. The Club continues to do this successfully today. The golf course has 18 holes designed by Donald Ross.     Responsibilities Description: We are looking for a motivated, team-oriented Mechanic/Assistant Equipment Manager to join our team.
