    Position / Title:             Equipment Manager

    Facility Description:  Due to the relocation of our current employee Wellesley Country Club has an open position as our Head Equipment Manager.  Wellesley Country Club is a private club which includes the traditional 18 hole main course with an additional par 3 short course located 10 miles west of Boston.  Construction of the turf care maintenance facility was completed in 2016.  The equipment management area consists of 5000 square feet of service area, dedicated parts and grinding rooms, and mechanic's office.

    Duties Description:  Under direct supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, the mechanic assumes all responsibilities involving golf course maintenance equipment.  Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and implementing a preventative maintenance program.

    • Maintaining all the equipment on a preventative and curative basis
    • Small engine repair
    • Diesel engine diagnostics
    • Hydraulic system functionality and repair
    • Responsible for all mechanical stock, ie: parts, nuts, bolts, oil, etc.
    • Working within monthly parts and repairs budget
    • Monitoring and ordering fuel supplies
    • Responsible for inventory and proper handling of club provided snap-on and other provided tools
    • Thorough record keeping
    • Maintaining all cutting units to the satisfaction of the Superintendent ie: grinding, height of cut , and operation
    • Attending educational conferences to maintain industry certifications
    • Perform daily on course inspections for proper cut
    • Assist with any and all training on use of equipment
    • Supervise and train assistant mechanic when needed
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
    • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
    Requirements:
    • Must have 1 year or more as an equipment manager or assistant equipment manager at a golf course facility
    • Must have a high school diploma
    Benefits / Compensation:  
    • $87-$90k

    Duties Description:
    The assistant location manager helps oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the specific location, including sales and operational functions. Need to take direction from and work hand in hand with the location manager to ensure productivity and efficiency on all required tasks. Must be able to operate the location and be a resource the manager can depend on when he/she is away. Customers come to Valley Green for quick service and sound recommendations therefore must thrive in a fast-paced environment with a focus on a positive customer experience.

    Position / Title:          Summer Intern

    Established in 1894, Cohasset Golf Club is one of the oldest private clubs in New England. Cohasset Golf Club is a challenging 18-hole Donald Ross course located on the South Shore of Boston.

    Golf Course Projects executed in 2023:

    • Currently constructing new Maintenance Facility with completion date off August 2023
    • Dredging of irrigation pond
    • Small projects consisting of bunkers, irrigation installation, tee expansions

    Experience:

    • Must be currently enrolled in or graduated from an accredited turf management program with a desire to be a golf course superintendent
    • Ability to maintain high work ethic and function in a team environment
    • Possession of a valid drivers license
    • Have or obtain a current Massachusetts pesticide applicators license
    • Must have a positive, can do, personality

    Primary Responsibilities of the Position:

    Placement student will be an integral part of the daily maintenance operation. Students will work with the Superintendent and Assistant in all aspects of golf course management to deliver unparalleled daily tournament conditions.
    Specific Duties:

    • To learn how to operate and maintain all pieces of equipment
    • To learn and implement the calibration and application of all fertilizers and pesticides
    • To record all information on daily activities, climate, pesticide applications and fertilizer applications
    • To perform basic skills in irrigation system maintenance and repair
    • To check the course every day, as well as preparing the golf course for daily play
    • To syringe turf areas as needed, as well as directing the green keepers who are syringing
    • To lead small crews and oversee small scale projects on the golf course
    • To perform other duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant
