    Title:                      Manager of Member Events & Services
    Reports To:          Director of Member Services
    Status:                  Full Time/Non-Exempt

    Position Summary:  Responsible for management, administrative functions and support of Mass Golf Members and Member Clubs in all areas relating to Mass Golf tournaments and events.  Assists the Member Services team with all Member and Member Club related programs, services and activities.  

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    •  Mass Golf Member Days, Women’s Tournaments and Team Tournaments
      -       Overall management of the Member Day program including online 
            registration, pre-event communication and coordination with
            participants and host club staff.
      -       Provides support to the Director of Women’s Golf and Player
            Development in the management and administration of Women’s
            Tournaments and Women’s Cup Events.
      -       Responsible for management and support of Team Tournaments.
      -       Coordinates and performs on-site tournament duties including event
            set-up, registration, starting, monitoring pace of play and scoring.
      -       Promotes and ensures a positive experience for players and host club
            at all tournaments and events.  
      -       Assists with site procurement for future events.
    •         Member Club Services
      -       Assists the Manager of GHIN and IT in providing training and technical
            support to Member Clubs on the use of Golf Genius/Tournament
            Management, GHIN and the USGA Handicap System.
      -       Assists in the management of the Members Now! program, and the
           renewal process for Mass Golf/GHIN Membership.
    •        Other Member Services Programs & Event Responsibilities
      -      Assists the Director of Member Services in the management of Mass
           Golf and USGA programs and events that support and educate our
           Members and Member Clubs on a wide range of activities and benefits. 
      -      Contributes to the development and growth of new programs and
           offerings to engage casual golfers and new Members.   

    Position Requirements:

    •  A high interest in golf administration with previous experience in the golf industry.
    •  Outgoing personality with strong communication and organizational skills.
    •  Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment with staff and volunteers.
    •  Ability to effectively manage numerous projects concurrently.
    •  Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner with an emphasis on responsive member service.
    • Working knowledge of the Rules of Golf and tournament administration.
    • Proficient with MS Office and CRM programs, USGA GHIN platform and Golf Genius/Tournament Management.
    •  Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; frequent travel throughout the state is required.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

    Position Summary: Responsible for operational support and administrative assistance of the Mass Golf Championship Department.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Staff-in-Charge (lead management) of various Mass Golf Championships, including pre-event meetings and communications with host club staff (manager, golf professional and superintendent), competitors and volunteers.

    • Assist with the management of the online registration system and website updates (posting of starting times, player information sheets, results, point rankings).

    • Preparation of event materials, including but not limited to; Player Info sheets, Tee/Alpha sheets, Local Rules & Hole Location sheets, scorecards, scoreboards and Pace of Play sheets.

    • Perform on-site administration duties, including but not limited to; course marking, golf course set-up, event infrastructure & logistics (tents, signage, scoreboards, etc.), live scoring, management of volunteers/rules officials.

    • Equipment organization, upkeep and purchasing.

    • Provide additional assistance to other assigned staff-in-charge at various Mass Golf events, including USGA qualifiers and New England Golf Association events.

    • Assist with the site procurement and scheduling for future Mass Golf events.

    • Provide support and expertise via email, phone and in-person on all aspects of the Mass Golf Championship Department and the Rules of Golf to competitors, members and member clubs.

    Position Requirements:

    • A high interest in golf administration with previous experience in the industry.

    • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Golf and tournament administration. Prior attendance at a PGA/USGA Rules of Golf Workshop is necessary.

    • Highly organized and detail orientated with the ability to manage numerous projects concurrently.

    • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner.

    • Proficient with MS Office programs and USGA Tournament Management.

    • Willingness to work in fast pace and team-oriented environment with emphasis on customer service.

    • Outgoing personality and the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals including staff and volunteers.

    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willing and able to travel throughout the state and surrounding areas including some overnight stays and weekend work.

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work extended hours at times and in various conditions (outdoors).

    Facility Name:             The Country Club

    Facility Description: Host of the 2022 US Open, The Country Club is not only the oldest country club in the United States; it is one of the largest in the Northeast. Nestled on 236 acres of land, The Country Club has over 250,000 square feet of building space.  In addition to 27 holes of Golf, the Club maintains 3 dining rooms, event facilities, Curling, 2 Tennis facilities, Paddle Tennis, Squash, Pool and Pool Café, Fitness Center, Ice Skating, Cross Country Skiing and more.

    Education/Experience:  Must be enrolled in a Certificate, Associate or Bachelor's degree program in Turfgrass Management or related field. Minimum of one-year golf course experience is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.

    Duties Description:  Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Assist Superintendents in managing all aspects of a large-scale grounds operations.
    • Involvement in daily operations and management meetings.
    • Assists in the maintenance and record keeping of a very large equipment fleet.
    • Working with a leadership team to maintain a culture that results in successful career oriented people.

    Special Skills:  In preparation for the U.S. Open we will be working closely with Course Architect Gil Hanse, on course-wide enhancements and master plan improvements.  As the selected intern on the Grounds Department, you will be involved in all facets of golf course maintenance and operations, including in-house construction projects. The ideal candidate must be a team player with a drive, passion and positive attitude, striving to succeed in the turf industry.
