    Responsibilities Include: The Golf Club of Avon is looking for a high energy candidate to assist in the day-to-day leadership of the golf course maintenance team. Nestled in the Farmington Valley, the Golf Club of Avon is a private club providing its members with a full range of family-oriented recreational and social activities.
    Founded in 1925, the Golf Club of Avon has emerged from a 9-hole golf course to a full-service country club that now provides 27 holes of golf to challenge every golfer's ability, a racquet center featuring eight Har-Tru courts, four pickleball courts, and three paddle tennis courts, an Aquatic Facility featuring a heated pool with a zero entry level area and a diving well.

    In 2026, GCA will host the Hartford Healthcare Women’s Championship, an LPGA Epson Tour Event. GCA will be the host site each July for the next three years.

    Under the leadership of the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Senior Assistant and other Assistants in all aspects of the property maintenance at GCA. Including, but not limited to: golf course setup, chemical/fertilizer applications, job delegation, moisture management, irrigation troubleshooting/repair, tree removal, drainage installation, in-house tee renovations, snow removal/plowing, and small project supervision.
    GCA has nearly 250 acres of total property that requires a high level of attention to detail to provide an exceptional golf course and campus. The Assistant Superintendent is expected to be a positive leader with a friendly demeanor who can work well with others and interact well with members and their guests. The successful candidate will enjoy a healthy work/life balance with the understanding that more hours are necessary during peak season, hot/dry conditions, aeration, and marquee member/guest golf events.

    Norwood Country Club is a public 18-hole golf course and lighted driving range, and is conveniently located on Route 1 behind the Chateau Restaurant and Hampton Inn close to Route 95. Designed by Sam Mitchell, built by Frank Simoni and opened in 1975. It has a par 71, 5630-yard layout, the course has a flat terrain with medium sized, well-manicured greens. Norwood CC is among the eleven golf courses operated, owned, or consulted for by Sterling Golf Management, Inc (SGM).

    Applicants to this role MUST have relevant experience as part of a golf course grounds crew. 3 - 5 years preferred.

    The Assistant Superintendent will play a role in management of the grounds crew alongside the Superintendent and the management company's Director of Maintenance. They will also play a major part in daily grounds maintenance tasks. As such, their responsibilities fall into two categories: supervisory and grounds maintenance.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Supervise grounds crew members while accomplishing daily grounds maintenance tasks as directed by the Superintendent
    Assist with weekly scheduling and budget/expense tracking
    Help train & develop new hires
    Work with the NCC Superintendent and SGM Director of Maintenance to grow management, mechanical, spraying, and irrigation repair skills

    Grounds Maintenance Responsibilities:

    Maintain grounds and landscaping.
    Operate mowers, tractors, and other groundskeeping equipment.
    Perform general maintenance of the grounds, such as trimming trees and shrubs, raking leaves, and removing debris.
    Maintain records of work performed.
    Fertilizer/chemical applications
    Irrigation repair
    Mower set-up
    Execution of in-house projects under the guidance of the Superintendent
    Other routine maintenance practices

    New Irrigation System: Scheduled installation Fall of 2026

    Pesticide Applicator license preferred, otherwise must obtain within first year of employment.

    Salary & Compensation: $52,000 - $60,000 salary depending on experience. Health and dental, annual bonus and 401k match. Three weeks vacation plus sick time. Free golf and cart at all SGM managed courses. Pesticide license, turf conference, and education expenses. Opportunity for advancement.

    The Portland Seadogs are actively seeking applicants for the position of assistant groundskeeper. The position is a full-time salaried position. All applicants should be able to work in a fast-paced professional environment. Applicants are expected to possess the necessary skills to carry out daily tasks while working both independently and with others on a professional baseball field, while representing the Portland Seadogs and Minor League Baseball to the highest standards.

    This position is ideal for someone with one to two years of turf management experience.

    Duties:

     All duties are not limited to but include the following.

    All aspects of daily infield skin maintenance.
    Mound, Plate, and infield Clay repairs.
    Mowing, aeration, top dressing, and edge maintenance.
    Assisting with tarp pulls.
    Warning Track maintenance.
    Daily equipment care and maintenance.
    Fertilization and pesticide applications.
    Ability to operate sports turf equipment in a safe manner.
    Must be able to work well with the head groundskeeper to execute all functions of the grounds department. Duties are not limited to but may also include outside events and concerts.

    The New Hampshire Fisher Cats are seeking a motivated and hard-working Director of Field Operations who will be responsible for the management, planning, and implementation of the maintenance and agronomic program for the Delta Dental Stadium. The outfield playing surface and warning track were recently renovated, which included the removal of old organic material and incorporated new USGA sand and Profile soil amendment for added nutrient and water holding capabilities. Tuckahoe gameday bluegrass was also installed along with new hunter irrigation heads.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    General duties include, but are not limited to mowing, fertilizing, maintaining and rebuilding pitching mounds and home plate areas, dragging and moisture management of infield skin, field marking, edging, aerating, topdressing, verticutting, replacing sod, and tarping.
    Administrative and managerial oversight of the department.
    Planning for projects and outside events.
    Budgeting and forecasting, including approving payroll and payroll allocation for keeping equipment and irrigation in good working order.
    Hiring, training, and scheduling staff for events & organizing daily work list for staff.
    Managing materials inventory.
    Managing relationships with outside vendors. 

    Salary: $70,000 base salary ; medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO
