Position Overview:
Far Corner Golf Club in Boxford, MA is seeking an experienced and reliable Golf Course Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and a passion for keeping golf course equipment running smoothly. As a Golf Course Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing all golf course machinery, including mowers, carts, utility vehicles, and other essential equipment used on the course.
Key Responsibilities:
● Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on all golf course equipment, including riding mowers, walk-behind mowers, tractors, aerators, and utility vehicles.
● Troubleshoot and repair engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical systems.
● Ensure all equipment is in good working condition to maintain a safe and efficient operation of the golf course.
● Maintain an inventory of parts and supplies necessary for repairs and routine maintenance.
● Conduct regular inspections of equipment and keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
● Collaborate with the golf course maintenance team to ensure equipment needs are met in a timely manner.
● Assist in training staff on proper equipment operation and safety procedures.
● Work with management to develop and implement a preventative maintenance program.
● Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the shop and tool storage.
Qualifications:
● Previous experience as a mechanic, ideally in a golf course or landscaping environment.
● Strong knowledge of small engines, mechanical systems, and hydraulics.
● Experience working with golf course maintenance equipment, including mowers, tractors, and utility vehicles.
● Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical issues.
● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
● Must be able to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
● Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Certification in small engine repair or related field.
● Experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
● Knowledge of electrical systems in vehicles and equipment.
