Facility Description: Bass Rocks Golf Club is a par 69, 18-hole, private golf course that opened in 1896 located in seaside Gloucester, MA and offers terrific views of the Atlantic Ocean. The Bass Rocks membership is committed to updating the golf course. We will be hosting the 2024 Massachusetts Amateur Championship Qualifier. A course Enhancement Plan is being prepared in 2024 by Robert McNeil of the Northeast Golf Company. A new Toro Lynx 2-wire irrigation system with Infinity heads was installed in 2023 as well as the construction of our new par 3 2nd hole. The club’s future plans include some new greens, bunker renovations, pond expansions and additional drainage work.

Experience Desired: 2 to 4 years of golf course maintenance work experience or related field. Will train the right individual if experience doesn’t match.

Duties Description: As an Assistant in Training at Bass Rocks Golf Club, you will be given ample opportunity to learn what you want to learn. You will work directly with the Superintendent and Assistants to develop a plan that will help you learn and advance in the turf industry whether it be at Bass Rocks or another property.

Special Skills: MA pesticide applicators license or ability to obtain within 6 months required.

Compensation / Benefits: $20-$25 Hourly rate, On Site Housing available within walking distance to Good Harbor Beach. A healthy work-life balance is stressed for the ENTIRE STAFF, health insurance, uniforms, golfing privileges.

Education Level Required: winter school/online certificate, 2- or 4-year degree.

Position Available: March or April 2024 - will wait until graduation for the right candidate.
