Facility Description: Concord Country Club is a 120-year-old private club, featuring a Donald Ross designed 18-hole golf course, 8 tennis courts, pool facilities and a clubhouse for members and guests. Concord was the host of the 2014 WGAM State Amateur, the 2015 NEPGA Championship, and the 2018 Ouimet tournament. The club will be hosting the 2020 New England Amateur Championship and the 2022 Massachusetts Amateur Championship. The golf course also is undertaking a new irrigation system starting in August of 2020 which will include a new storage pond, pump house and pumps. Along with an irrigation system, the club is in the process of finalizing a new Master plan by architect Andrew Green with hopes of starting the restoration project construction sometime in the fall of 2020. The 2nd Assistant will gain extensive construction and irrigation installation experience. The department is located in a 20,000 sq. ft. ground and environmental management center built in 2012. Potential housing is available on site in the facility. Opportunity to grow and develop within the organization.

Experience Desired: 1-2 years as 2nd Assistant / Assistant-in-Training/ Intern.

Duties Description: The 2nd Assistant will work closely with the Superintendent and the turf management team on all aspects of golf course maintenance. The position will consist of fertilizer and pesticide applications, calibration, and training. Other duties will include course set-up, water management, irrigation and drainage projects and troubleshooting assignments. Candidates with extensive spraying and irrigation experience are positives. The position requires a strong work ethic, commitment, honesty, and a positive attitude. Candidate needs a willingness to put in long hours in season as needed (average 50 to 60 hours per week).

Special Skills: Must have or obtain a Massachusetts Pesticide license in 60 days. Company will pay fees associated with taking and obtaining license.
