    Facility Description: Meadow Brook Golf Club, established in 1898, is a private 9-hole facility located in Reading, Massachusetts and designed by Alexander Findley. Meadow Brook is a family oriented club offering a full palate of activities including, golf, swimming and tennis. The club completed a full irrigation system installation in 2006 (Toro SitePro Central Control System) as well as construction of a new maintenance facility in 2011. The club has hired golf course designer Ron Forse and is in the early stages of a master plan.

    Experience Desired: 4 years of golf course maintenance experience. Previous experience as a 1st or 2nd assistant or assistant in training preferred.

    Duties Description: Under the direction of The Golf Course Superintendent, The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for all aspects of daily golf course preparation including but not limited to supervision and guidance of the green department staff, safe and accurate application of pesticides and fertilizers, irrigation repairs and water management.

    Special Skills: Applicants must be self-motivated and goal oriented individuals who show great attention to detail, are effective communicators, and are eager to develop and advance professionally as turfgrass managers. The appropriate candidate will be well organized, dedicated and appreciates the importance of working in a team environment.  Must have the ability to lift, push or pull up to 50lbs on a consistent basis, have the ability to obtain a Massachusetts pesticide applicator license, possess a drivers license and reliable transportation.    

    Compensation / Benefits: $20/Hour, Medical insurance (employer contribution 68%), 401K, uniforms/golf shirts, meals, dues for local and national associations, regional conferences, association meetings and golf privileges.

    Education Level Required: 2 or 4-year degree in related field.

    Position / Title:         Senior Assistant Superintendent


    Facility Description:  Opened in 1961, Pleasant Valley Country Club is a private 18 hole golf course that is steeped in history and tradition that was formed, in part, through hosting forty-seven National Championships on both the LPGA and PGA tours.  While no longer a tour stop, Pleasant Valley members and guests still expect tour level course conditions and our staff is eager to deliver.


    Experience Desired: A minimum 2 years as a second assistant or assistant in training and the strong understanding of the responsibilities required for this position.


    Duties Description: A great Senior Assistant is most importantly an energetic and positive force on the crew who is self-motivated with strong leadership abilities.  His/ her duties include every task that may come up on a golf course or the property grounds i.e. spraying greens, training employees, mowing tees and emptying trash, cutting cups, raking bunkers, laying sod, plowing snow and so forth.  A MA pesticides use permit is required to have or obtain.


    Special Skills: Experience leading a crew with different projects.  We are looking for but not requiring experience with a backhoe/loader, safe chainsaw use, irrigation maintenance, course construction projects (i.e. new tees or bunkers), spray rig operation, equipment maintenance.  A background in arboriculture and/or horticulture.   


    Compensation / Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience, health and dental insurance, 401k, vacation, seminar reimbursement, license renewal fees, playing privileges.


    Education Level Required: A minimum of a Winter Turf Program Certificate.

    Facility Description: a 9-hole private golf course designed by Wayne Stiles in 1923 and located 20 minutes west of Boston

    Experience Desired: Individual must have worked on a golf course for more than 3 years.  Have experience with chemical and fertilizer applications and managing a crew.  Applicant should possess good work ethics including honesty and dependability.  Required to have or be able to obtain a Mass Pesticide License.  

    Duties Description: will assist the Superintendent with all aspects of the golf course and grounds maintenance.  

    Compensation / Benefits: $45,000 with health, vacation, local and national association dues.
